Baby Just Talk To ME! Run To ME First!

Updated: Apr 25, 2024

I solely run to the Lord when I'm struggling with difficult situations. He always listens, He always cares. I pour out all of my heart to Him, and when I'm down, the Holy Spirit always responds so tenderly "It's ok baby, it's okay, God loves you!” I can sense His tender look, His smile, and approval. I wait in His presence under His wings, in “the secret place” until I know what to do. Then I’m infused with a strength that only could have come from on high! The storms don’t seem so scary anymore, because I’m holding my Savior’s hand. He is my Shepard, and I walk close to Him. A stranger’s voice I will not follow! He leads me to the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake, and restores my soul! In that place, there is rest and peace.

In His presence as I’m standing boldly on the word of God, and trusting Him, I see into the spiritual realm with the eyes of my spirit. I see the Lord moving in front of me like a protective father guarding his children, pointing very sternly with anger in His voice at those demons, and hell saying “THIS IS MY CHILD! THIS IS MY DAUGHTER! THIS IS MINE! YOU GET OUTTA HERE!” He claims me, and I claim Him. What a marvelous place to be in!

When we are going THROUGH, we should always run to the Lord for help! Run to Him first! Sure, you can ask people for help, but make sure they are the right person. They may be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, but it doesn’t mean they really care about you. Be careful of the information you share with people; you don’t have to be so “transparent” with everybody! Most Christians are selfish, immature, and spiritual babies, and you couldn’t trust them with personal things. It’s always best to learn to run to the Lord, and run to Him first and not man.

You see Christians these days going to counseling. I'm not really into the Christian counseling thing, and here's why; It's training us to run and trust in man instead of God. I honestly think by cutting away everything in our life and getting quiet before the Lord, the Holy Spirit can speak to our hearts and give us direction or reveal the hidden things of our hearts. As we meditate on His word and His testimonies, it gives us a strength we didn't know was there! David said in Psalm 119

Psalm 119:24

Your testimonies also are my delight; THEY ARE MY COUNSELORS.

Notice David didn't say he had to find people to give him a good talk. David learned to encourage himself in the Lord.

No doubt in my mind that the Lord DOES use Christian counseling professionals to help others, but it's not God’s best. He would rather you learn to lean solely on Him. Do you remember when the children of Israel asked for a king to rule over them? The Lord was totally against that idea! He said that He was their King! When the children persisted in having a king, and God gave them up to their desires even though it wasn’t what He wanted.

1 Samuel 8:19-22

19 Nevertheless, the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel, and they said, “No, BUT THERE SHALL BE A KING OVER US, 20 THAT WE ALSO MAY BE LIKE ALL THE NATIONS, THAT OUR KING MAY JUDGE US AND GO OUT BEFORE US AND FIGHT OUR BATTLES.”

Wait guys.... isn’t it the Lord who will fight your battles and not a man? Why do you want to be like the other nations? They wanted to be like the world. Let's continue on to verse 21 and 22.

21 Now after Samuel had heard all the words of the people, he repeated them in the Lord’s hearing. 22 THE LORD SAID TO SAMUEL, “LISTEN TO THEIR VOICE AND APPOINT THEM A KING.”

What would of happened if they never had a king? Well, I can tell you that they would have been better off spiritually because they would have learned how to rely on the Lord and walk by faith! Besides that, the kings of Israel and Judah were imperfect and made many mistakes and failures. The Lord permitted them to have a king, but it wasn't His will. The children got a king to their liking in the natural. King Saul was taller than everyone, and was the most handsome man among the Israelites, he certainly "looked" the part, but we all know what happen to Saul. He was terribly disobedient to the Lord, and the kingdom was taken from him, but they wanted a king instead of the Lord!

King Asa is another example of this. He was a good king who acted righteously for many years. He prospered and had peace in the land AS LONG AS HE SOUGHT THE LORD AND PUT HIM FIRST.

2 Chronicles 14:7-8

7 For he said to Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. THE LAND IS STILL OURS BECAUSE WE HAVE SOUGHT THE LORD OUR GOD; WE HAVE SOUGHT HIM, and He has given us rest on every side.” So, they built and prospered. 8 Now Asa had an army of 300,000 from Judah, bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, bearing shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.

When King Asa had trouble from Zerah the Ethiopian, who was coming against him with a million men, he sought the Lord. The Lord routed the Ethiopians before Asa in 2 Chronicles 14:11-12!

As long as king Asa sought the Lord and put Him first, he had success! At the end of his life, he started to put his trust in man. King Baasha of Israel came against Judah, and King Asa sought the help of Ben-hadad king of Aram. To make a long story short, King Baasha backs off from fortifying Ramah and leaves Judah alone. Hanani the seer then rebukes the king for relying on the king of Aram instead of the Lord.

Then in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, he became diseased in his feet and sought the help of the doctors.

2 Chronicles 16:12

12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa became diseased in his feet. HIS DISEASE WAS SEVERE, YET EVEN IN HIS DISEASE HE DID NOT SEEK THE LORD, BUT THE PHYSICIANS.

King Asa lived in that condition for two years, yet he did not inquire of God.

Isn’t it interesting how he started making major mistakes later in his life? He was strong for years, but if we don’t be careful, the devil can start working on us, and get us to make costly mistakes at the end of our life! You know it still works that way today. It doesn’t matter how long we have been at this, you can get off! You don’t reach a certain level where you don’t have to walk by faith and trust God!

I also want to note that I’m not against doctors, but I’m just saying it would be better to learn how to lean and run to Him first. If you feel like you need to see a doctor, then by all means GO! God won’t be mad! You may even DIE if you don’t GO! I’m just saying let’s learn to put God first, be sensitive to His leading.
